Do y'all have seasonal reading lists?? I must confess I've never done one. š I mean, I have heard of them, sure, but I've never done one myself.
So what do I do? I write myself up a fall TBR for this year . . . then find fall book lists and tags all over the place.
That's just the way things work, I guess. š¤¦āāļøš
So here we go, jumping on the bandwagonāthe Finally Fall Book Tag. ššš¤

1. In fall, the air is crisp and clear | a book with a vivid setting!
Probably the most vivid setting Iāve ever read was The Wonderland Trials by Sara Ella!
While also being such a fun book, Ella captures the complete wonder and, yes, vividness of a Wonderland like nothing Iāve ever read before.
2. Nature is beautifulā¦but also dying | a book that is beautifully written, but also deals with a heavy topic like loss or grief.
This is super easyāThis Life of Mine by Victoria Lynn.
Probably my most favoritest (yes, that is a word and yes, I am using it š) read of 2023, this book is so beautiful and has all those wintery feels and vibes . . . but also deals with abortion and death and loss in the most tactful and best ways possible.
If you havenāt checked this book out, I highly, highly recommend you do so.
3. Fall is back to school season | a non-fiction book that taught you something new.
Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris.
This book is geared towards teens, but honestly, adults should read this book too. š
4. In order to keep warm, itās good to spend some time with the people we love | a fictional family/household/friend-group that youād like to be a part of.
Ooooh, this is such a hard one! Do I go classic and say Little Women? Or something more futuristic and say Team Heart from Sara Ella's Curious Realities duology??
*Proceeds to spend way too much time overthinking this*
You know what? I think I got it.
The Deadlock/Winfield family in P. D. Atkerson's Simon Lee (and adjoining) series. š Call me crazy (because, indeed, I am) but I would totally hang with that group.
5. The colorful leaves are piling up on the ground | a pile of fall-colored spines!
Fall-colored spines coming right up! š
6. Fall is the perfect time for some storytelling by the fireside | a book where somebody is telling a story.
This one threw me for a bit of a loop . . . but I think I got one!
This one was super fun, and the antics and dialogue of the sibling duo is hands down the best part of the book.
7. The nights are getting darker | a dark, creepy read.
*Blinks and looks around* Hhmmmm . . . I don't really read dark, creepy books. š¤ But I do read mysteries. And out of those, I'd probably have to say The Sign of the Four by Sir Arthur Connon Doyle. I could see that as being slightly creepy. And was it just me, or did it seem like most of the book was set at night? That's dark! š
8. The days are getting colder | a short, heartwarming read that could warm up somebodyās cold and rainy day.
Short? As in short story?? And heartwarming???
I got this.
Love Blind by Angie Thompson!
This story is so cute, and I've lost count of how many times I've read it. š„°š And that line "I trusted Seth and Mel with the important thingsāmy phone, my keys, my fish." Yeah, that's a regular quote in my household. š
9. Fall returns every year | an old favorite that youād like to return to soon.
An? An? As in singular?! š¶ How can I just pick one re-read?! I have an entire STACK of books I want to re-read soon! And not just booksāseries!! *Sighs* There's no way I can just pick one.
So allow me to give you the incomplete list. š
š Blue Justice series
š Dearest Josephine
š The False Prince
ā Stop the Rain
š Caddie Woodlawn
Aaaaaaand I know there's more that I am not thinking of. š
10. Fall is the perfect time for cozy reading nights | favorite cozy reading āaccessoriesā!
*Rubs hands together* Ah, that cozy reading time. Rarely does it ever reach picture-perfect perfection, but when it does, here's what I love it to look like. š„°
Fingerless gloves (Preferably hand-made with chunky yarn. š§¶)
Candles (It's so hard to find good, natural candles, am I right?? Luckily, I know a great place to get them from. š)
A huge blanket
Coffeeeeee ā(I mean, come on, you totally saw this coming.)
Snacks š„Øšæš« (Yeah, you saw this one coming too, admit it. š)
11. Tag others!
YOU! š Yes, you! If you're reading this and want to do this tag, by all means, have at it! I'd love to see y'alls' lists.
What is your favorite book/series to re-read? What are your favorite "cozy reading" accessories? Do you have a Fall reading list?? Let's compare notes!
Catch ya on the flip side!
